The current size of the chickens. Slaughter time is around the corner.
The goats are growing steadily as well.

I went to crown tourney this last weekend. Very surprising, a squire won. I was also asked to be one of the Queen's Ladies-in-Waiting. I suppose it's because I'm still somewhat new.
I do have to say though, I prefer the times that I'm behind the thrones. I don't feel like I'm on the spot, but I can still watch court. The only times I had to be on the spot was swearing fealty and getting my little velvet pouch and retinue letter. With how fast my heart was beating, I'm surprised I didn't pass out. I'm still terribly shy after nearly ten months in the SCA.
I'm getting better at the rapier parries though, yay!

Love this pic. <3

Butter Finished

Sorry it took so long to post this. Social drama that needed resolving.

Cinnamon honey butter!
This is just the best stuff in the world. The only problem is that homemade butter tends to get hard in the fridge, but either letting it sit out until it's room temp. or putting in the microwave for a few seconds puts it right back at soft.
Ramona and Eidel are weaning themselves, wierdest thing I've ever seen. Normally it's a huge chore, but they've just been eating less milk and more hay and grain by themselves. They will also be moving outside in the next three days.

Also, I sell my chicken's eggs at our local Co-Op. Wednesday, when I brought in a few dozen, I was approached by a lady. She immediately introduced her self as a proud vegan and asked me how I kept my chickens. I told her they practically have a mansion, an 8x12ft shed with a run twice the size of their shed and they roam the 1 1/2 acre of a yard during the off growing seasons, so early spring, late fall and winter. She kept insisting that I was imprisoning my chickens and forcing them to lay eggs, then stealing their future babies. (keep in mind I don't have roosters) Lol, some people... I just had to leave eventually, I was getting nowhere with her.

Butter Making

Time to make butter!

I'll let it sit until it's room temp. and then start shaking it. More to follow this evening.

No Idea

Why I have trouble finding a boyfriend. I haven't even had a date for more than a year.

Monitor Cat

The usual view of my monitor. My kittie's nonchalant 'what?' as her tail blocks part of the monitor screen. This kittie's name is Rosabella, so named for her one pink paw pad out all black, and she is a princess. Half Siamese and half American Shorthair.

More goat action...

Woolies

Just finished knitting a fluffy boucle cowl. So I thought I would show that as my current finished product.

This is the pic of the babies in the bathroom. They've taken to sitting on the toilet... It's kind of nice that they are just using the tub as the bathroom. I only have to clean the tub a few times a day. They have some blankets on the floor, but they only seem to sleep on them. During the day they're either on the toilet or sink.
They will soon move outside as Eidel is completely healthy. They have a dog house currently for their bed and they will get a dog run so they can get to the grass. I'll bring them outside the run when I'm out there gardening, but I know they would eat the roses, trees, and garden before they get the grass if they were left alone.

I will soon be washing some llama wool and some sheep that I got through a friend's friend. The llama staple length is insanely long! One hair I measured was 15 inches!
It's just really dirty, I'll have to wash it outside, in tubs. Will have pictures of it when the time comes.

These are the new kids from about a week ago. The little black and white one, I later found out, had pneumonia. She's much better now, but it was a bit of a scare.
They are currently in the downstairs bathroom, pictures of that to come. Otherwise feeding time would be a major hassle as the black and white one (Eidel) is scared to death of me, the brown and black (Ramona) doesn't mind so much though.
Anyone know of good stud services in the SE Idaho area for Nigerian Dwarfs? (That is if anyone reads this)

I attended an SCA event last saturday and made a few of the award's scrolls. Here are the ones that were handed out. The first a 'Swan and Escallope' A local or Baronial enthusiasm award.

The second is an award called the Peacock's Eye which is an award for long term Baronial service. It was given to my current teacher. (I am currently her student, not to be confused with apprentice) I love that the award name matched so beautifully with a real flower, and I tried to make it look sort of 'Hanging Gardens of Babylon'-ish. The peacock is our barony's symbol and the rest are designs all mish mashed from persian pottery. And the cat, everyone loves cats...

The third picture is a detail from the fourth picture and the third scroll. It's a guy from the tower, I just wanted to show the facial features, though the picture doesn't do much for it. The third scroll is for the Baroness' Champion (fighting) it was given to a guy called Mistuhide, a japanese persona. It's just got some gold leafing for the fleur de lis and strawberry vines (again not to be confused with the strawberry leaves of a Duke) I just thought them to be pretty. The tower with the guy on it and the detailed D.
